Why Pacific Seacrafts are Designed, Engineered, and Built the Pacific Seacraft Way
Dear PSC,
We wanted to thank you for your hospitality at the PSC
Open House in February.
I have long wanted to let you know how much my husband,
Sam, and I have enjoyed our PSC 34, Grace. On my first offshore trip, which was also the
first time I had sailed at night, we had strong winds, 35 to 40 knots, and 10-12 foot seas,
but we were sailing under a full October moon, and with one reef in the main and the Yankee
up, the boat was perfectly balanced. Standing alone at the helm on my first ever-nighttime
watch, with the world illuminated by moonbeams, the sound of the wind and the waves surrounding
us, and the steady, rhythmic motion of the boat carrying us along, was an epiphany of my life.
It was like riding on the back of a dolphin, so natural, so right. When my husband, Sam, woke
up to take his watch, he began waxing poetic, not about the beauty of the night, but about your
design. I didn't understand it at the time, and didn't appreciate the way the boat was handling.
It wasn't until we joined up with friends from our yacht club who had sailed the same route and
began discussing our trip that I realized that we had an entirely different experience because
of the boat we were in. When we met for dinner, everyone was grim and fairly roughed up,
complaining about how boisterous the seas had been. Grace was the second smallest boat in the
group, and only one other boat was crewed by a husband and wife alone. Being such a novice
sailor (I think I was the only one of the group who had never been offshore before), I still
didn't fully realize what a difference boat design made. When I piped up with "We liked it,
it was wonderful!" They were stunned, and even more so when I told them that I (a real novice)
hand steered on my watches. Out of ten boats that made the trip, Sam and Grace and I seemed to
be the only ones who had a good experience. The boat is an absolute delight to sail. She is
forgiving, strong, and elegantly beautiful.. She makes my heart sing every time I see her.

Pacific Seacraft has been building world-class offshore global
voyaging cruising yachts since 1976, and currently builds
W.I.B. Crealock designed sailboats, Bruce King designed fast
trawlers, and previously built the Nordhavn 40 trawler for Pacific Asian Enterprises.
Pacific Seacraft's accolades include twice being selected
to the Fortune Magazine list of "100 Products That America
Makes Best", and inclusion in Ferenc Mate's survey
of, "The World's Best Sailboats." We are
continually inspired by the satisfaction that we derive from
client relationships formed as we work with them on each building
project to create a personal yacht. Pacific Seacraft builds
a full line of very capable cruising sailboats putting the
most desirable traits in cruising boats within the reach of
most who aspire them.
